Crypto UX doesn’t need more features. It needs to feel obvious. Cray is building for that.
Over the past few days, I spoke to 50+ people about Cray — founders, investors and ecosystem folks.
A few people got it instantly:
“This is what crypto UX is missing.
Finally, something that fixes the mess without adding more mess.”
That felt good.
But most asked the same question, just phrased differently:
"So, is it a bridge?
A cross-chain stablecoin transfer?
A stablecoin swap?
How do you settle to the bank?
Don't you need to go regional for that?"
I get it. Fair questions! Everyone's trying to categorise it. Make it fit. But Cray isn't any of those things, and at the same time, all of them. Cray uses all those ingredients: swaps, bridges, and routing logic. But what it actually is: Payment experience infrastructure.
Not infra for infra's sake. Infra that makes paying feel natural, stable, and invisible.
Let me show you what I mean.
When "Almost Paid" Isn't Good Enough
I saw a video recently about someone buying a Dubai eSIM on Bitrefill using their Warpcast wallet. It looked smooth, so I tried it too.
The interface was clean, but then came the dropdowns: Pick a token and chain. I picked something, opened my wallet, and boom, there were not enough funds. I had to go back, switch the chain, and recheck balances. Somewhere in the middle of all this, I dropped it. I didn't finish the transaction.
And that's the quiet reality of most dApps today. We lose users not because the product is bad — but because we ask too much. Only the most motivated, crypto-native users make it through. Everyone else bounces.
With Cray, users don't need to gather funds or think about which chain to use. They pay — from wherever they are — and the app gets what it needs, on the chain it lives on.

But crypto?

That's why most people aren't here yet. Not because they don't get the value — but because we make them work to access it.

It feels risky — because it asks users to move through systems they don't fully understand. They have to trust flows that feel fragile. Sign things they can't read. Click buttons they're unsure about.
In crypto, volatility isn't the only risk. Mental friction is. Because people don't just avoid what's volatile — they avoid what feels uncertain. So if we want crypto to be used, truly used, we have to build flows that don't just work, they have to feel safe. That means fewer decisions. Fewer hops. Less thinking in protocol terms.
This is what many miss. People don't show up for complex tech. They show up to buy a meme, mint an NFT, join DAOs, buy items, and claim rewards. If we front-load them with setup work, we lose them before they even begin.
We have built DApps that assume users will figure out the plumbing. So before any action, they need to:
– check token balances
– move funds between chains
– get the gas token
– swap for the right token
– then come back and act.
It's too much. We lose people in the first 60 seconds. Cray flips this. It starts with the action — not the setup. To meet people where they are and carry them forward, without friction, without asking them to learn a whole new mental model just to pay.

Why Stablecoins Only?
People often ask: "Why limit it to stablecoins? Why not let users pay in ETH, SOL, or whatever token they hold?
The simple answer is that Cray isn't solving token movement. We're solving payment experience. And real-world payments- those that feel predictable and accessible— start with stability.
Stablecoins are the default behaviour today. They're how users move value, hedge risk, and bridge between actions. They're Familiar. Predictable. People already think in dollars, not in governance tokens, LP shares, or memes.
They're where you start before you trade, lend, or mint. That's why we chose to start here. Technically, of course, we can — It's just to support one more ERC-20 token. But we don't want to. Not yet. Because the problem isn't technical. It's about designing for trust, simplicity, and default behavior. And today, that means stablecoins.
Until crypto UX becomes effortless, volatility is not a feature — it's noise.
Not Just Infra. UX Infra.
There are a lot of Brilliant infrastructures in crypto. Routing systems. Modular execution layers. Chain abstraction protocols. Incredible tech that makes interop possible.
But the thing is- most of it is built around developers, not users. And that's the gap. We've spent years making crypto programmable. Now it's time to make it usable.
